Who runs this page and what it covers

This page is run by the editors of Shamo Bet Ethiopia guide, an independent site that describes how Shamo Bet works for players in Ethiopia. It is not the operator, and it holds no betting account on your behalf.

This notice covers only what happens on shamo-bet.bet. The moment you follow a link to shamo.bet, you are on the operator's own property and its own policy applies, not this one.

What this site does not collect

There is no sign-up form here, no login, no comment field and no newsletter box. So there is nothing on this site that asks you for a name, a phone number, an ID photo or a payment detail, and nothing that could store them.

Specifically, this site never receives your +251 number, your Shamo Bet password, your ETB balance, your deposit proof or your bet history. Those exist only inside your account with the operator.

Server logs

The web server records each request so the site can be kept running and abuse can be traced. A log line holds the IP address, the date and time, the URL asked for, the response code, the number of bytes sent, the referring URL and the browser identification string.

Log lines are read only when something breaks or when traffic looks automated. They are not matched against any other list and are not sold.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no cookie of its own for advertising, profiling or measurement. The pages are static HTML; the only script they load is the one that opens the operator's link when you tap a button.

Cookies you may still see in your browser on this domain come from the network layer described in the next section, and are technical.

Cloudflare, the network layer

Traffic to this domain passes through Cloudflare, which serves the pages from a location near you and absorbs automated attacks. Cloudflare therefore processes your IP address and request metadata on this site's behalf, and may set its own technical cookies to tell a visitor from a bot.

Cloudflare acts as a processor for this purpose. Its own documentation describes what those cookies are and how long they live.

Affiliate tracking links

Buttons such as Log In, Register and Claim Bonus do not point at shamo.bet directly. They pass through an affiliate tracker, which notes that the visit came from this site so a referral can be credited.

The tracker sees the referring page, your IP address, your browser identification string and the time. It does not receive anything you later type into the operator's forms. If you would rather not be counted, reach shamo.bet by typing the address yourself.

Analytics

At the time of writing, no third-party analytics tag runs on these pages — no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no heatmap recorder. Traffic is judged from the server logs and from the aggregate figures the network layer reports.

If that changes, this section will name the tool before it goes live, and the change date will appear at the top of this page.

Legal bases for processing

Where the GDPR applies to a visitor, the processing above rests on two bases. Keeping server logs and running the network layer rest on legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f): a site cannot be operated or defended without them.

Nothing here rests on consent, because nothing here asks for data. No special-category data is processed, and no automated decision is made about you.

Your rights in the EU and UK

If the GDPR or the UK GDPR covers you, you may ask what is held about you, ask for a copy, ask for a correction or an erasure, ask for processing to be restricted, and object to processing based on legitimate interest.

Write to postbox@shamo-bet.bet. In practice the only record tied to you is a server log line, so an access request is answered by searching the logs for the IP address and dates you give. You may also complain to your national supervisory authority.

Your rights in California

Under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, a California resident may ask which categories of personal information were collected, ask for deletion, ask for correction and opt out of any sale or sharing.

The only category collected here is internet activity — the log fields listed above. This site does not sell personal information, does not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising and does not use it to build a profile. There is therefore no “Do Not Sell” mechanism to offer, and no financial incentive programme exists.

How long records are kept

Server log files rotate and are discarded in the ordinary course of hosting maintenance; they are not archived for analysis. Retention periods set by Cloudflare for its own technical records are stated in its documentation and are outside this site's control.

Nothing on this site is kept for marketing, because nothing is collected for marketing.

Age, changes and contact

This site is written for adults. Betting in Ethiopia is for players aged 18 or over, and these pages are not addressed to anyone younger. If you believe a minor has sent information to the address below, say so and the message will be deleted.

When this notice changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Questions go to postbox@shamo-bet.bet; the address accepts mail and is read by the editors.
